Meet Our Team
Muscat Mums is run entirely by volunteers and many of them take up more than one role within the organisation.
Here is a short introduction by each coordinator to give you an idea of their background and experience at Muscat Mums.
If you are interested in volunteering for any of the roles, please do let us know as there are always opportunities coming up as mums move country or their children grow up.

Co-Chair: Marianna
Hi Mums! I'm Marianna, originally Greek-Korean but born and raised in Oman. Our little family has been on the move (Oman, France, Angola and Madagascar to name a few,) but we're happy to call Muscat home again. I've joined the team as the new chair and can't wait to plan exciting events for you all this year! My girls Sophia (3) and Alix (1) are the reason I'm here with you all today. Although I was born here, I found motherhood quite overwhelming, and I received a ton of support from the Muscat Mums community so I hope you all do too. Whatever you're looking for, we really hope we can help you with it. Thank you for making the community what it is today!

"We are all now connected by the internet, like neurons in a giant brain." Stephen Hawking.
Our connections to everything around us, define us, so I hope to help create a Muscat Mums culture that allows its volunteers and members to be creative, grow, have fun and build stronger connections! I am a British national, born and raised in London. Ethnically Chinese and grew up in a culturally diverse community. Connecting with people from all walks of life offers unlimited opportunities to learn, so have always found meeting people a fascinating experience. Muscat Mums volunteers have shown me warmth, kindness, organised great events and welcomed me into their homes, after knowing me only for a short time. My son also appreciates the Muscat Mums library and activities. The group would not exist without volunteers, so thank you to all Muscat Mums volunteers, past and present! |

Finance Officer: Jenny
Hello! I’m Jenny. I’m Vietnamese-American and have been living in Muscat for six years, and I’ve been in Muscat Mums for five and a half! This group has been an invaluable resource during my time here, and I’m so grateful to give back, now as the financial coordinator (you might remember me as a former toy library coordinator). I also assist the book library mamas and am temporarily housing the library at my home in Al Mouj. My background is in Architecture , but since moving here, I’ve been a full-time mom to my three amazing kids: River (7), Zoe (5), and Jackson (2).

Cheeky Monkeys Coordinator: Jana

Hi everyone! I’m Jana, the Cheeky Monkeys coordinator. I’m originally from the Czech Republic, and my husband’s from the UK—so our household is always a mix of accents and tea preferences. We actually met while working in the Maldives. Now, before you picture us lounging on sandy beaches, we lived in the capital, Malé, which is… not quite the tropical paradise you’re imagining! Still, it’s where our story started, so it holds a special place in our hearts.
Since then, we’ve lived in a few other exciting places across Asia—Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia—before making our way to Oman in 2019. Life here was great; we met some incredible people, and then I got pregnant! In 2021, we decided to head back to the Czech Republic to welcome our daughter. Fast forward to 2023, and here we are again, back in Oman—only this time with two daughters! Kaia is 1, and Isabella is 2.5, so things are a bit more chaotic now. When I’m not wrangling my little monkeys, you’ll find me geeking out on graphic design, experimenting in the kitchen, or playing around with new gadgets (yes, I’m a bit of a computer geek too). I love photography and painting, so I always have some creative project on the go.I’m really looking forward to meeting all of you and sharing the fun, laughter, and inevitable toddler meltdowns along the way!

Muscateers Coordinator : Denise
Hello! My name is Denise and I am taking on the role of Muscateers Coordinator this year with Muscat Mums. Though I am Chinese-Filipino, I spent the majority of my childhood in Japan and most of my adulthood in the USA. I moved to Sohar in 2016 to teach in Al Batinah International School as a Learning Support teacher. In 2018 I moved to Muscat to join my husband and had Noah and became a full-time mommy.
We have been very fortunate to have lots of support through my husband’s family who have been in Oman for a very long time. They have allowed us to continue saving the world through Pandemic or conquering the lands of Catan, some of our favorite board games. I also enjoy eating out or making a mess in the kitchen. I look forward to meeting you all! |
Newsletter and Website Coordinator: Kelly
Hi! I'm Kelly originally from England but an expat for almost eleven years now. When we moved to Muscat in July of 2021, finding Muscat Mums and the support they provide was a real lifeline. It is a community full of fantastic women supporting each other, raising each other up and providing a plethora of offerings not just to enrich our children's lives but ours too. I have a background in Early Years and providing additional support to children who need it. I enjoy family time, travelling, reading, baking and eating!
I look forward to meeting you soon. |
Website Coordinator: Kate

Memberships Coordinator: Naveen
Book Library Coordinators: Laleh
Hi - my name is Laleh, mum of an amazing 4 y/o daughter named Sharan. I am a physiotherapist and moved to Oman from Iran in 2019. Since I joined Muscat Mums, I started to know a lot of lovely people and in a short time I felt like home - knowing people I can count on and have fun with. I love Oman because of its peaceful atmosphere and so many beautiful places you can explore. My hobbies are cooking, baking, music and singing. I found peace in them. I believe the whole point of life is about listening, understanding and feel each other’s music and the energy comes from us. Only in this way we can be less judgmental and more at peace with ourself and others. Looking forward to see you all and make great memories.
